Bookmarks & Their Pins

As both an author and illustrator, I thought it fitting to promote my work through bookmarks with the main players of my books as the faces for my pieces. Each bookmark has a character on the front and a quote that is reflective of their character on the back as well as my contact information. Each bookmark comes with a matching ename pin that is representative of each character and a backing card with a title that is equally indictive.

Aria Irael Rofaren

Aria is one of the protagonists for The Song of the Sea, an adult high fantasy series of found family, love and loss, betrayal, and redemption. In this story, Aria, an outlander, is known as the Ashen Wolf of the North, sworn to the crown as the Viphate’s sword to protect all who live under its domain from all evils. She can harness fire in one hand and lightning in the other and can fell whole armies with her pragmatic approach to battle as the Brigadier General of the kingdom’s most powerful legion.

Seura Traen Cratisse

Seura is the other protagonist for The Song of the Sea. Seura is fondly referred to as the White Stag of the West, who was said in myth to be a guardian spirit of the land long ago, while the Ashen Wolf was the sole protector of the people of the cold, vicious mountains above. He is Viphate’s shield, a clairvoyant sorcerer of great divine power. And while Aria is the stoic harbinger of justice by any means, Seura is the selfless and wise voice of the people with a close connection to Celestia.

Cordéllia Lillianette Bently

Cordéllia is the main protagonist of Winterblood, my soon-to-be debut YA fantasy novel. She is the long-lost daughter of an affluent family with a large influence over the vampiric sphere. She, too, is a vampire, but years of abuse as a science experiment have left her barely what she ought to be, yet has run away with darker things she wishes to be rid of. Despite her shortcomings that are out of her control, she is yet a persistent and curious girl, keen on pouring over Ian’s entire library to make up for a decade’s worth of lost time after being taken in by the magician and his cousin.

Arch Teirist Contley

Arch is a faerie of Arcaria, a kingdom in the sky that, although in a time of peace, still encourages its ancient warrior culture. Arch was born with two forms of magic, which is an uncommon trait among the faerie: starlight magic and a special form of sound manipulation magic that constantly tests his limits as an empath. Having followed in his brother’s footsteps after his death, Arch is now one of the most powerful warriors in Arcaria’s army, wielding a spear forged of opalite and a branch of the tree of life. However, he finds greater joy in academia and daydreaming nowadays.

Ian Abbott Brassworth

Ian is a Master Magician, a highly skilled wielder of magic, and said to be the most powerful of his age. However, instead of following a path that would ready him to be the appointed successor of his former tutor, the High Magician, he took his graduate degree and passion for history into practice by becoming the most well-versed in vampiric history and biology of the twenty-first century. Ian is an advocate for only using his magic for necessity, believing that magical tutelage is a privilege and thus should not be taken for granted. This has caused him to set his abilities to the wayside and risk losing his talents forever. Until, one day, his compassion as Cordéllia’s new guardian reawakens all he left locked away and set him on his path to his destiny.

Hayden Aiken Presscott

Hayden is Ian’s younger cousin, though they are so close they are more like brothers. Hayden looks up to Ian despite being the only human in the Prescott-Brassworth family. He tries to ignore his mortality and instead focuses his time on following Ian as his partner as vampiric historians, hoping one day his magic will manifest and grant him a proper place amongst his near-immortal family. Having become blood bonds with Cordé, souls woven together by destiny, his fears yet may soon be quelled…
